for my part
I am creating a new series of small artwork focused on the inherent goodness within us all.
It's called Allowing Goodness It’s Own Speech, a phrase borrowed from Toni Morrison. In short, it means that instead of letting evil or malice dominate the narrative, we must give goodness the center stage and a powerful voice of its own.
This work is designed to start a dialogue - one person at a time - about putting humanity first, and the power of a community that refuses to turn away.
This project is about tangible relief. All proceeds from the sale of this collection will support the Community Sponsorship Hub in Minneapolis, which is responding on the ground in Minneapolis now. They are providing rapid mutual aid and legal support for unlawfully detained refugees and families sheltering in place, while training community members to protect and welcome our neighbor
