 Oysters on the Rocks Picnic"Oysters on the Rock Picnic", 30" x 40", abstract landscape, acrylic and oil pastels on canvas. For their Sept. 2014 wedding, Annie and Nolan requested contributions for their art fund. They asked for vibrant art inspired by the landscapes of New Zealand where they honeymooned. Annie shared, "We were on the Kenepuru Sound in Marlborough region. It was the ultimate NZ experience, eating oysters straight off the rocks and visiting a green mussel farm." This art was commissioned by Jim's brother as a holiday gift to the couple, and of course the ocean spoke to me in every touch of color. It was an afternoon of friends and laughter that I've cherishes for several years, and now re-create in hand-painted paper collage.
